The general student base, simply continued with that manner of instruction (which was more of an illustration of application, NOT how the techniques should be taught). Even though Taika (on numerous occasions)stated that practice should be "slow" and careful, many couldn't make it work when done in that manner (hence the reason so many people perform tuite "sloppy"). <br /> I know numerous individuals who "quit" specifically because of the (manner of) tuite instruction.
